Going to the library

Since I was child, I have loved libraries and books. I don't read many fiction books but I love factual literatur that cover any subject, may it be art, science , or some third thing... And offcourse, the ones with many pictures are the best. In our town we have a great library, and I visit it as often as I can. My plan is to bring our son Seth there and make him enjoy it as much as I do.

For his one year birthday I made this library tote. It fits over his shoulder, but the strap is adjustable, so it stays with him for a long while. It has attached a wooden ring, he can have things hanging, like these beads and the crochet covered bell. Later I hope he will have his Ipod, keys, cellphone or something else... we will see

The thing is... I want one too... hmmmm... But then he would probably be too embarrased using his... Such a dilemma...

That is a very sweet book bag, with so much love and thought that went into it. I also love libraries and books, and it is so fun for me to see my daughter use her own card to check out a book and put it in her tote bag. Simple pleasures!

Very beautiful bag. It is obvious that a loving mother made it for her child - wonderful craftsmanship and I love the adjustable strap so it can grow & go with him.

This is a nice idea, a tote for library books. I love visiting library but I always take the books home in a big plastic bag...
I love your tote!

I've been a 'lurker' for a while but now I just have to leave a comment! The bag is just wonderful...in craftmanship and style. You have such an amazing eye especially for unique details.

I just love the fact that you MADE your child a gift. Seth will surely remember these things. My recent pledge is to make gifts. A handmade gift is all heart.

I love it! I think it's great that you want to encourage your son to visit the library! Library time was always something that I did with my father - he is a real bookaholic and as I was growing it was from a Saturday morning visit to a late night on Thursday visit - and me hanging about the library looking at books long after I had chosen my selection because my dad was still choosing his! A fond childhood memory remembered - thank you!!
